We are thrilled to announce that Joeydolls has been featured under the “Golden Spotlight” on The Proud Asian website, and we couldn’t be more excited about it! We were recognized by The Proud Asian, a platform that is dedicated to celebrating Asian culture and highlighting the achievements of Asian Americans is a huge honour for us.
We spoke with the lovely Crystal Bui, she wrote an article titled “Joeydolls: The Asian American Dolls You Didn’t Have Growing Up” which showcases our mission to promote representation and diversity in the toy industry. As an Asian American-owned business, we understand the importance of having dolls that accurately represent the diverse identities of children from different cultural backgrounds.
Growing up just like myself, many Asians in Western Society were not able to see themselves reflected in the dolls they played with. This lack of representation could negatively impact their self-esteem and sense of identity. That’s why I created Joeydolls in the first place – to provide a positive representation for Asian children to help them feel proud of their heritage and feel worthy.
Our cultural Asian dolls come in a range of ethnicities and skin tones with each one dressed in traditional Asian clothing. We also include educational materials with each doll to teach children about the culture and history of the country represented by their doll. Our hope is that through play, children can learn about and appreciate the richness of Asian cultures, and also feel seen.
We are grateful to The Proud Asian for recognizing our efforts and sharing our story with their audience. We hope that through this feature, more people will learn about Joeydolls and support our mission of promoting diversity and representation in the toy industry when we launch!
Thank you for taking the time to read about our feature on The Proud Asian website. We invite you to explore our website and discover the joy of Joeydolls – Adorable & Playful dolls celebrating Asian diversity.
