Joeydolls was recently named one of three judge-selected winners of the Elevate eCommerce North Innovator Challenge Cohort 10 Pitch Competition. Six finalists pitched live on June 18, 2026, and each winning business received a $1,500 CAD grant to support its next stage of growth. The Joeydolls Elevate pitch competition win marks an important moment of recognition for our mission and the business behind it.
While we are grateful for the recognition, what matters most is what it represents for the families and communities we serve. This award reflects the growing need for meaningful cultural representation in children's products and reinforces our commitment to creating toys that help children feel seen, celebrated, and proud of who they are.
Organized by Elevate in partnership with Moneris, the Elevate eCommerce North Innovator Challenge is a six-week accelerator that helps founders grow their direct-to-consumer businesses.
The program includes:
As part of Cohort 10, founders refined their business strategies and presented their companies during a live pitch competition.
For Joeydolls, the program was an opportunity to share our mission, strengthen our business, and connect with a community of purpose-driven founders.
Our presentation focused on a challenge that many families know firsthand. Despite today's diverse communities, many children still struggle to find toys that reflect their own cultural backgrounds in thoughtful and authentic ways.
Joeydolls was created to help change that.
Our pitch highlighted:
We also shared the growing support we've received from families, educators, and communities who believe children deserve toys that reflect diverse cultures and identities.
As a bootstrapped physical product business, we discussed the realities of growing responsibly while developing new products and expanding our reach. We also shared our commitment to growing sustainably, expanding cultural representation, and introducing future boy dolls.
Being selected by an independent judging panel is meaningful because it recognizes both Joeydolls' business potential and the growing need for greater cultural representation in children's products.
For our team, this recognition affirms that representation is more than a feature. It reflects what many families and communities have been asking for.
The Joeydolls Elevate pitch competition win also gives us added confidence as we continue growing thoughtfully and sustainably. The $1,500 CAD grant will support our next stage of growth as we continue expanding the cultures, stories, and children represented through Joeydolls while staying true to the mission that inspired our business from the beginning.
The grant and the experience gained through the Elevate program will support Joeydolls' next stage of growth.
Our focus moving forward includes:
We are grateful for this recognition and excited to continue building a business that creates lasting impact for children and families.
We would like to sincerely thank Gad Elharrar (Moneris), Emily Porta (Maple Leaf Angels), and Colin Harding (BrandProject) for selecting Joeydolls as one of the winners of the Elevate eCommerce North Innovator Challenge Cohort 10 Pitch Competition.
We are also grateful to the entire Elevate and Moneris teams for creating a program that supports founders building purpose-driven businesses. Over the six-week accelerator, we gained valuable insights into direct-to-consumer growth, website optimization, and pitch development that will continue to shape Joeydolls' next stage.
Finally, thank you to our fellow Cohort 10 founders. It was a privilege to learn alongside so many passionate entrepreneurs who are each working to make a positive impact in their communities.
This recognition marks an important milestone for Joeydolls, but it is only one chapter of our journey.
