Joeydolls founder surrounded by the doll collection

Our story

Started by a mom who couldn't find her kids in the toy aisle

Joeydolls was founded by Samantha Ong, a mom of two who was born in Malaysia, raised in Australia and now calls Canada home. When she couldn't find dolls that thoughtfully reflected her children's heritage, she decided to make them.

Today we're still a small, family-run team, designing every piece so more children can grow up seeing their culture in everyday play.

Read our story

Explore children’s books, activity books, flashcards and learning resources that help families celebrate culture, identity and belonging through stories and hands-on activities. The Joeydolls Books collection brings together our own educational resources and thoughtfully selected titles that introduce children to Asian cultures, languages, celebrations, foods and everyday experiences.

Families can find coloring and activity books, bilingual learning tools, celebration-themed books, affirmation resources and stories connected to cultures represented throughout the Joeydolls community. These resources can be used at home, in classrooms, during cultural celebrations or alongside our dolls to extend learning beyond imaginative play.

Whether you are looking for a cultural gift, a classroom resource or a simple way to help children explore their own heritage and the cultures of others, this collection offers approachable ways to start meaningful conversations through books and activities.
