Imagine a little boy opening a gift and seeing a doll who looks like him.

Maybe he recognizes the face. Maybe he notices the clothes. Maybe he simply picks the doll up and starts playing. But somewhere in that small moment is a powerful message: you belong here, too.

For many Chinese and Asian families, finding that kind of representation can still be difficult, especially when looking for a Chinese boy doll. That is why we created Jun, a character designed to bring more Chinese representation into everyday play and give boys another way to see themselves reflected in the toys they love.

Meet Jun, Our New Chinese Boy Doll

Meet Jun.

Jun is a soft 9-inch Chinese boy mini doll created for cuddles, storytelling, and everyday imaginative play. His name is Jun (俊), pronounced “Joon,” and means “talented” or “handsome” in Chinese.

He wears a red Tang-inspired jacket with gold accents and a matching cap. His outfit is sewn on, making Jun ready for little hands and everyday adventures.

More than a new character, Jun was created because Chinese boys deserve to see themselves, their families, and their culture reflected in the toys they play with.

Why We Created a Chinese Boy Doll

Jun started with a simple question: Where is the boy? Families had been asking us for more representation for boys, and we wanted to create a Chinese boy character who could join the Joeydolls family and give children another way to connect with their heritage through play.

Jun can be a friend, an adventure buddy, a family member, or simply a little companion who comes along for the day. We are not defining who Jun has to be. We are giving children another character to build their own stories around.

Why Representation for Chinese Boys Matters

Children are constantly learning who gets to be the hero, the friend, and the main character in the stories around them. Toys that reflect their identity can help those stories feel more personal and give children space to explore who they are.

For Chinese boys, seeing a doll that reflects their heritage offers another reminder that their identity belongs in play, too. Culturally representative dolls, including Asian dolls and multicultural dolls, give children more opportunities to see different identities celebrated in everyday life.

Cultural Details in Jun’s Design

Jun wears a red Tang-inspired jacket with gold accents and a matching cap, bringing cultural details into a doll designed for everyday play. His sewn-on outfit makes him easy to cuddle and carry, while giving children a natural starting point for questions and conversations about Chinese culture.

Jun was created to have a place alongside other characters, including Mei, our Chinese cultural mini doll. Together, Mei and Jun give children more room to imagine, create stories, and see different expressions of Chinese identity reflected in play.

If your family would love both characters, the Mei + Jun Chinese Cultural Mini Doll Bundle brings them together with 10% savings compared with purchasing them separately.
