Daddy bought the Soriya doll for our daughter, Indradevi, and she absolutely loves it. For the first time, she sees herself reflected in a doll. From the traditional sampot and crown to the Champei flower in her hair. The details are beautiful, the materials are soft, and it feels like so much thought was put into honoring Cambodian culture. Seeing our daughter connect with Soriya and proudly say, “She looks like me,” is priceless.

The craftsmanship reminds us adults of the innocence of all the world's children. Many years ago I had an aunt who collected various styles of dolls. Some were very expensive and untouchable. Her favorites where the dolls that were crafted in your style. Durable, huggable and relatable to children. The price... absolutely a deal. Shipping..... arrived when promised. Yet I have a personal reason to be 100% satisfied. My oldest daughter is named Soriya and her mother is from Cambodia. Soriya, I would love to introduce you to Soriya. For the longest time, I have always yearned for Khmer resources, kids toys, books, etc that revolved around Cambodian culture... And Joey Dolls made this happen (finally!). It felt like the universe was telling me, that my younger self can have a Cambodian doll of my own--- it's skin tone, cultural outfit, all in one which I can share with my daughter whom luckily is still within range to play with dolls when this was released. So THANK YOU!! The doll was a lot bigger in person that I had imagined, very huggable, cute, and has all the small intricate details. The crown was also protected during shipment which I appreciate.

Our 6 year old granddaughter has been obsessed with "around the world" everything since she understood the concept, around age 3. When I happened upon these dolls a couple of years ago, I was thrilled. Her first were Mei and Aiko, then Kamala came along, and this year, Danbi. Soriya will be a gift for her next birthday. They are all treated with love and care (and are the ones she sleeps with at night). She incorporates the culture, language and dress of these places into her play and the dolls have been a lovely springboard for supporting that interest. Our 18 month old granddaughter got the mini Priya this year to get her own collection started! 100% recommend. Furthermore, the company is old-fashioned in its customer service--if there is an issue, you can expect personal responses and quick answers to questions. Seriously NICE people. Buy a doll--you'll love the whole experience, I promise.

I am not Cambodian, but this doll was just too cute. She is very well made and I'm sure would make a great friend for any little girl. The one thing I was a little disappointed by is that not all the accessories are easily removable, which is different than the description. The crown is sewn on with some small stitches. It wouldn't take much to remove that, but the gold bracelets and anklets are actually sewn into the arm and leg seams, making it really unreasonable to get them off and have them be useable at all. I understand that it safer for small children, but I was hoping and expecting them to come off. Overall, though, she really is a beautiful doll.

You're absolutely right - some accessories like the crown, anklets, and bracelets are sewn in. We made this choice intentionally to ensure the doll is safe for all ages, which is our top priority.
